Nicole is a single mother and has raised Carla as a single mom her whole life. They have a great relationship and talk about almost everything. Nicole has been both mother and father since Carla's father left years ago. They have no contact with him and they like it that way. He wasn't a good father or boyfriend.
Sometimes, though, Nicole regrets that she raised Carla with more of a best friend relationship than a mother-daughter relationship. Carla often confides in her mother the way she would a best friend... Recently, Carla told her mother something that her mom wishes she didn't know! But you can't unhear things, so Nicole's just trying to forget...
THE PROBLEM:
Nicole has finally started dated someone that she is serious about. Carla has met him and they have great relationship. Nicole and Brian plan on taking their relationship to the next level after Carla graduates from High School next year.
Carla has a job so she can make money to do things she wants to do. She works full time during the summer and part time when school starts again. It's a mom and pop operation and they only have 3 employees. Carla is very mature and responsible for her age. They trust her so much that she has keys to the store.
THE SITUATION
Brian won a trip to Hawaii from work. All expense paid. Airfare, 5 star accommodation, food and spending money. This trip is valued at $8,000 dollars and it's non transferable. He wants to take Nicole and she would be gone for a week. He would love to take Carla also but she can't get off work from her summer job. She has left Carla home for a day or two but never a week. Carla has a new boyfriend who is 19 and out of school. Nicole doesn't want this boy around Carla while she is gone. Not in the house or going to his apartment that he shares with 3 other guys. Nicole is afraid that being out of town, Carla would take advantage of her new found freedom and have her boyfriend over. Carla said that won't happen but after Nicole heard what she heard the doesn't know what to believe.
If she decided not to go on the trip and keep and eye on Carla then Brian will take his best friend
