The competition, in which coaches Nettles, Clarkson, Robin Thicke and John Legend sing duets with amateur acts, came to a finish with the final three taking the stage with their superstar mentors for the last time.
The Sugarland frontwoman performed "Rhythm of the Night" with J Rome and "For Good" with John Glosson, while Clarkson belted out "Heartbreak Hotel" with her pick Jason Farol.
However, it was Team Nettles who came out on top after Rome emerged triumphant in the public vote, scooping a coveted recording contract with Hollywood Records.
Before the winner was announced, Nettles stunned the crowd by tipping Rome for the prize, admitting, "I want him to win. I want him to do well. I want him to do well in life," while Legend agreed, "I said last week - I would sign J Rome to a record deal."
Even rival Clarkson declared herself a fan, gushing to Rome, "I love you. You make me so happy."
