So, for ONCE we finally get to report a story that is STRAIGHT FROM THE HORSE'S mouth and not attributed to someone else.

It turns out, Chris Kirkpatrick was NOT at Justin Timberlake's wedding in Italy.  In fact, none of the former N'Sync members were there because NONE of them were invited.

The reason he was in Italy at the same time was pure coincidence!

Kirkpatrick had his trip to the Isle of Capri planned long before Timberlake planned on having his wedding in that country.

Kirkpatrick, 41, said the scenery was beautiful and the time just seemed right to propose to his girlfriend of 2 1/2 years, Karly Skladany, 28.

So, he just went out on their last night there, bought a ring, came back to the hotel and dropped it in a glass of champagne. 

He got on one knee, proposed and she said yes, but she also said, "It was about time!"

Kirkpatrick said, "Now will you stop nagging me?"

The ring is a modest, 1 carat, oval-shaped with diamonds all around it.  Here's a photo of the happy couple!

As for his upcoming wedding, he says he intends to ask ALL of the former members of N'Sync, including Justin Timberlake to not only come to his ceremony, but to be IN IT! 

We'll have to see if it's the first time the boys get back together or if they'll do it sooner.
